More Pictures, Yangon

2209c Rod in his Longji at the Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon, Myanmar.
2227 Diana at Shwedagon Pagoda, Yangon, Myanmar.  Behind her you can see part of the rounded corner square of shrines that surround the pagoda.
2230 This is a closer look at the shrines and the pagoda beyond.
2245a These are some of the temples and shrines that form the outer perimeter of the whole pagoda platform.  The walk way you see in the foreground is the space between the inner shrines around the pagoda itself and the outer temples on the edge.  In the center is the white and gold style, on the right is the dark red and gold style and on the left is the green and gold style.  There are many variations on these themes but these are the basic types.
2261 This is the Planetary Pole for Tuesday.  The people are using the little silver bowls to dip water from the large golden bowl and pour it on the Buddha's head.  This is repeated once for each year they have been alive.
2310 This is the Reclining Buddha at the Chauk Htat Gyi Monastery in Yangon.  You can see the golden icons on the soles of his feet.  There's a chart hanging on the wall explaining the significance of each of them.
